New Brain Slug Long Sleeves

Brain Slug have recently gone and got some killer long sleeves printed up for the cold months set ahead, ofwhich are now available from their online store here -  http://justaaudial.net/

As I'm here, if anyone was still after a copy of the 2013 Cassingle "CREEP//Annihilate Me" which we put out earlier on in the year, you can still pick it up from Hardware Records distro over in Germany, that will be your last chance to grab the European version I'd guess. Failing that, the American release which came out on Bleeding Edges is still available directly from their store.

Front Pocket - Classic NYHC design

Backprint - Huge Distort New York City design.
(hard as fucking nails!!)

Buy one!

**Whilst your here, give your ears a treat and have a listen to this. Another new NY band/demo which fts members of Brian Slug** Pick up the demo from Just A Audial // Worthog Speak

Control / Dread Tapes Now Up

Took a while but both the new Control & Dread tapes are now up in the SA store.
http://selfacceptancerecords.bigcartel.com/

Both bands played at least once on the recent Blind Authority tour and bloody smacked it.
Lower numbers of the Dread tapes as I sold a fair few when I was out at all the shows, so don't mess around if you fancy one of them. As always you can listen & download both on the bandcamp page here http://selfacceptancerecords.bandcamp.com/

The next game move for SA will be the new Blind Authority 7" which is due out for early March / Mongrel Fest II. They've been playing a few tracks of "No Future" on the recent tour and well... all I can say is that I'm ridiculously excited for it. Gonna be doing a live promo tape for it sometime soon, which will feature 2 of the 5 songs from it along with a new intro and a cover on there, gonna try get that up as soon as. They hit the studio to record the 7" early next month. They also have some shirts left from tour, help 'em out and pick one up. blindauthority.bigcartel.com

Also got some of the new UK promo tapes from Germany's Skaggs in the distro. They blew me away at Edge Day a couple weeks back. Top notch stuff. Grab one!

SA004 / SA005

I recently mentioned that Control is now part of the SA team. The Northern Wolfpack will be releasing 4 brand new tracks on a new tape entitled "Three Years On" through SA come late 2013. This will be the third release from Control, which will follow up from that class 2012 demo that came out on Hemlock 13 (rip) last year.

These new tracks are without a doubt their most praisable to date (I've heard the rough mixes, hence the ignorant statement.) As soon as the mastered versions are done & artworks ready the tapes will be available in the store (gimme a few weeks or so). You can stream a rough mix of one of the tracks & listen to their previous stuff here - Link

Along with the release of the Control cs, our other new recruits Dread will be releasing a 2nd demo tape "Brain Rot" simultaneously with those of the Control ones, which will (as mentioned above) be available in December. Brain Rot will feature two new tracks on the first side and then the previous three tracks from their self released demo on the flip-side. You can listen to those older tracks from their 1st demo here. Hard to correlate these, all I know is they do what they do, and they do it good. The new tracks are a massive step up!

Excited to get both both out there.
Helping friends is what this is all about

Control - Full Set

Newly announced members in Control played a cool hometown show this past week up North. Footage from their full set is now online (above). Couple of new songs in there from the forthcoming tape along with a couple of real class covers! Really excited to get this one out there, just waiting on some art shit and should then have them ready in a few weeks... give or take.

It would seem Newcastle and it's surrounding are really building up a awesome little scene over that way! Great to see more & more places doing shows on a regular occurrence with everyone really getting into it & making contributions! Same goes for Southampton, the UYC & co doing great things down that way. Keep it up!

I will have anything that remains in the SA distro with me at the shows. Check back on here or on the Facebook Event page for full details, in the next few days i'd imagine.

Up Next For SA

It's been a little while since theres been any news on what's up next for Self Acceptance.
Probably about time to drop the news on that.

Next up is going to be a four new jamz from the Northern Wolfpack lads in Control.
Since being back from their life travels / done with studies, they've regrouped back together and written four of the best slammers they've ever done before. Real excited to get this one out there.
80s west coast fans, come get wild.

After that will be a 7" with the ever promising title... "No Future" from my favorite nawty boyz in Blind Authority. The 7" will be split between Self Acceptance & again Fight Em All Records over in the USA, who also did the American release of their demo. Pressing info of the 7" is still up in the air, but will be split equally between the two labels & the band, different coloured wax for each. Siked to be doing something with them again. The rough guitar tracks are already sounding raw as hell. This is aimed to be ready sometime 2014.

Also somewhere crammed in between, SA is going to be doing a 2nd Demo for my Scottish friends in Dread, entitled "Brain Rot". Young skate rats playing ruthless jamz on a modern day Boston trip The tape will feature 2 new tracks on one side and then the previous 3 tracks from their first demo on the other.

As always, news on all the above releases along with other stuff will be put up on here as & when updates are present.
Thanks
-CW

**Also just to add, massive thank you to SA's close euro friend Jacob X Bondesson, for this badass new logo. This is the second time he's stepped up to the mark for Self Acceptance and by far surpassed all expectations of what I could of wanted for each!

He kills it!

Distro Update pt II.

The day after I decided to put the half of the distro update i've had in for ages... the other half arrives at my door. Couldn't make this shit up! Anyways, 7"s in from Disaproval / Sick People & surprisingly The Pack (Big thanks to Rome / Juggernaut Records for that, you the man!)

As always, all are in small numbers. People really seem to be into the Protester tapes that went up last night, so if you fancy one of them, dont hang around. Whatever's left out of this will be with me on the Poder Absoluto/ Blind Authority 5 day tour at the beginning of December, to pick up physically at shows.

Protester & Kremlin Demo Tapes in the distro

The Protester (dc) & Kremlin (toronto) demo tapes are now up in the store. Small number of each in the distro section.  Two brilliant demos, that your collection needs promptly if it doesn't already do so.
I do have some other stuff inbound for the distro, that being various 7"s and a couple other tapes, but these have been knocking about in my bedroom for a couple weeks now and thought id just whack them up to clear.

Incoming Distro Items.

Okay, so the Sick People - Fakes Rule 7" is now out on Juggernaut Records over here in Europe & out on Urban Rage back in Australia. I'm going to be getting in a small amount of the Juggernaut European version for the SA distro sometime soon, which will be available online from the store for UK people to save on shipping. I will also try have them at any upcoming shows I'm at. Also gonna be getting some stuff from Disapproval, Kremlin, Protester, Pure Disgust and maybe some other shit all around the same sort of time. So expect an update as and when it's all come in (half of it is here, just waiting on the last couple bits). Links to all below.

Finally SA #004/005 and now even 006 are all in the pipeline, truth be said... it may of taken a little long to get all sorted than I would of liked, but I will be getting some word out on those this week. Two new tapes & a 7" record.
Thanks

This Weeks Playlist

So I thought I'd do a little sub section on whats been getting a play in the SA home this week. There's been some right tasty numbers dropping recently, and below is a list of those that I've really been into.

1st up, the new LP from Hoax.
Picking up where their previous ep's left off with the whole raw, aggressive, aggro & all round evil vibes. The LP itself is written to flow perfectly from each track to the next. Ive actually only listened to it 2 times so far due to knocking myself unconscious on both occasions...Thats all i'm saying. A serious recommend.

Next comes two cheeky new tracks from South Coast goers Ego Trip. I already fucking loved this band the minute that first demo came out but these new samplers of the upcoming 7" are insanely good! The lyrics on the 2nd track "Pacify" go the fuck in and truly highlight what its all about! Listen to this band!

3rd on my list is the latest addition to the Lockin Out team. Back to Back, not to be confused with the in the starlight record label that also is located over in the states. The band who resign in Texas (what might I add is kicking it right now when it comes to Hardcore / Punk & Thrash bands releasing new shit) are an odd one for a Lockin Out release. I guess you could say their the most ill-fitted band on the label as they sound nothing like their counterparts & definitely dont have that notable "loc sound". Never the less, the cats behind LO have done a solid job picking up these boys. They play a VIP era of hardcore punk in the vein of Agnostic Front, 86 Mentality, SSD, DYS, No Trend etc. The 7" has a whole evil & almost alien like sound of feedback to it through out. I bloody love it.
Its been getting me super siked to start a project of my own, of which is "going" to have somewhat similar to vibe... It will probably end up sounding like the latest Linkin Park album tho.

I was gonna write up on a 4th... but couldn't in all honest I couldn't be fucked plus I had a veggie sausage casserole on the go that I wanted to go tuck into. But what I will say is listen to Final Rage (new 7" out soon and it's by far my favorite release of 2013). Also look out for Arms Race, Lifes Disdain, Obstruct & Disapproval. All with new stuff out soon.
Also, go check out the following UK labels that are constantly killing and the reason behind why I'm doing this. I'd love to be able to amount to half as much as some of them have done.

- CTW Records
- The Essence
- Atonement Records
- Quality Control
- Anger Battery
- Milk Run Records
- Static Shook Records

And all the new ones following in their steps & keeping it real:

- Semtex Death
- Northern Wisdom
- Neutral Worlds Records

Fight Em All will be taking 10 or so for their distro, so Americans pick it up from them to save on shipping

Pick up the tape here!

Blind Authority - First Show - Together Fest - Sheffield

Blind Authority played their first show earlier on this month with Atlanta's big boys Foundation, at a cool mixed bill festival, organized by the man that cares more about UK Hardcore than you ever will Max Mitchell!

Couldn't make the show myself, but from what I heard it was a real cool day, jam packed with a great variety of bands and people!

Crowd looked a little dead, but it was their first show and I believe they opened the fest, so it was inevitable really... But with a THINK I CARE intro & ending it on a BREAKDOWN cover, you couldn't of really asked for much more!
They play with Enough (usa) and some others in Southampton this weekend.

Birth.

This past week Self Acceptance Records was finally born.

The whole concept behind this label is something I've been wanting to create & peruse for fucking ages now and I'm super stoked to finally be able to do it. Gonna be putting out bands from all over the globe, helping friends, making friends and genuinely just getting behind the shit that gets me stoked on hardcore & punk today

This label is and will always be - DIY & ran by one. I will try to keep the blog updated as much as possible with the ongoings & things planned with SA

First Up SAR001:
Brain Slug's CREEP / Annihilate Me Tape.

A band Ive been behind since that first demo dropped back in 2011. So happy to be able to work with these guys. They take a manic blast of ancient NYHC wisdom like (Straight Ahead, Krakdown) and have spiked with a hefty dose of noisy punk (Discharge, DYS, SSD, et al.) I guess in modern terms the best way to describe them would be Rival Mob meets Hoax, but your probably beg to differ.

This tape consists of a brand new single which is split up into the two given parts & names (Creep & Annihilate Me) and then rounded off with a initial questionable cover of a Christian Death song "Spiritual Cramp" but once heard all questions will of been stomped aside. Incredibly vicious take on it.

SA will be doing the European side of release for these new songs and will be out of /100 copies.
30 on pink, of which are limited to UK based orders and the other 70 on Black available to EU and further worldwide orders / wholesale distro

The tapes themselfs have come out fucking amazing for a first release and i'm so happy with the end result on them. You can stream all 3 of the tracks over at Brain Slug's Bandcamp

Pick them up from the online store here SA Store
