A long time coming

It's been a while since I've posted any news on here with updates to the new releases & future stuff in the works with the label. So heres what's coming up & in the pipeline

SAR006:
First up... Self Acceptance is excited to say that the Ontario new jacks "STRAIGHT TRUTH" are joining the team and will be putting out a UK promo tape with us sometime in the not so far future! I have the tracks just need to dub the bad boys up & get the inlays done. Straight Truth continue to follow on the occurring pattern of quality bands coming out of the Canadian scene right now (especially in the Toronto/Ontario area to note)

ST play a straight up 80s Boston style of hardcore with classic & modern influences from all over, but overall and I guess its ignorant to say this considering all of whom take influences from the precocious, but they basically have that complete Toronto hardcore punk sound. Its hard to put my finger on it, but band after band that come out of this area seem to do something discreetly defiant, yet different that ties them all into the same sort of region & scene.... Anyways, thats enough pointless rambling for now, the tape will have their self released 5 track demo & then 4 new songs recorded in some fucks basement. The tapes themselves should be available in a few weeks time, news will be posted here & across various sites, forums & social networks when so.

Secondly, and this one truly has been a long time coming... orders for NO FUTURE, the debut 7"" from the UK's own Blind Authority will be available real soon. The tracks are now up for streaming on their bandcamp page here - https://blindauthority.bandcamp.com/.
I'm basically just waiting on the test presses to arrive and then once approved, the mailorder & band copies themselfs will follow shorty after.

They have a release show set and is fast approaching, June 7th in Leeds (next Saturday)
To add to the above, the lineup is completely flawless, with the likes of The Flex, Obstruct, Fade, SHRAPNEL, Arms Race and Mankind (who also just released a new incredible 7" on the best their is Quality Control Records, ffo complete Faith/early Discord).

Small Distro Update

New CS's in from Blotter & GAG. Two tapes you most definitely need to pick up whilst you get the chance. I "did" have a fair amount of these in... but a load went out this past weekend at Mongrel so don't hang around if you fancy one, as I doubt there be up for long. Also got a bunch of the flawless 7" from TX's Back To Back out on Lockin Out Records, by far one of my favorite 7"s from the past year.  

More distro stuff will hopefully be up online in short time, with news on future releases on the lable. Blind Authority hit the studio to record the 7" in a few weeks time which will be out with plent of time for their euro tour in July.

Mongrel Fest Two

Mongrel Fest II is getting closer & closer by the day, be sure to mark your calender for the 1st of March. Last years fest was by far the best show of 2013 for me, all the mates, a showcase of all the best bands the UK has to offer, no bullshit attitudes and just plan & simple goofing around. This years fest is poised to be x10s better with an incredible lineup, filled with bands from all over the globe, UK, EU & USA all joining as one & representing on the motherland.

The fest was also "aimed" to be the release show for the forthcoming No Future 7" from Blind Authority, BUT with a few hiccups here & there and delayed dates for recording, thats no longer the case... However they will have copies of that live promo tape up in the store, and probably a new shirt or something. Their busy booking a summer euro tour and we will have the 7" out for then.

We have also be treated to the announcement of a pre-show the night before the main event. The show will feature my toonarmy boyo's in Control, who dropped a cassette late on last year on Self Acceptance and joined up by UK greats Violent Reaction, The Burley Boys, Fade & Youth Avoiders! It's being held at the recently created DIY space in Sheffield "The Lughole", this place looks the fucking dogs! Don't miss this!

To close, this whole Mongrel movement absolute kills it! Hats off to them all for knocking together such a flawless few days of events & producing some of the best bands the UK's seen in recent times. It shall be quite the spectacle! Don't mess around, you know what to do!

Distro Update / No Future Promo Tapes

One of the UK's best new additions Blind Authority are currently in the recording stages for their upcoming 7" No Future, which will be be available through SA spring 2014. The release of the 7" has come a little delayed to what they wanted and with a bunch of new shows coming up, we thought it would be cool to get a couple of the tracks from it up online & available physically on a promo tape. The tape features live set recordings of three new tracks from the 7", (well ones an intro, but still).

Blind Authority - No Future 7"

Blind Authority is making a swifty return to the new year with their debut 7" - NO FUTURE.
This marks the first vinyl release from the band along with the first on Self Acceptance and on a personal level, I couldn't be more excited to be involved & helping them out again. Expect nothing short of them to produce some of the most aggressive & raw hardcore punk tracks, you shall hear come out of the UK in 2014.

The 7" comes as the follow up to their more than well received 2013 demo, and well... after hearing some rough mixes of the new tracks to come, I can tell you that this new stuff knocks the demo straight off that bad boy block. No Future will feature 4 new back to back slammers, along with a new intro (that once heard) you will have to reflect upon your life's existence....seriously! (if not, you shall spontaneously combust!)

 

Initially anticipated to be out in time for the upcoming Mongrel Fest 2, of which is taking place in Sheffield - March 1st... However, whether or not that happens is still a little up in the air as it stands. That's basically due to recording dates and so getting pushed a little back, but hoepfuly it will all work out. Failing that and as mentioned before, a live promo tape for No Future will be going up in the store in a week or so's time, and will feature 2 of the said new tracks & that intro. Blind Authority have gone and whacked up a live promo for two new tracks & an intro from the forthcoming 7" - "No Future" on their bandcamp page. As I'm here, if anyone was still after a copy of the 2013 Cassingle "CREEP//Annihilate Me" which we put out earlier on in the year, you can still pick it up from Hardware Records distro over in Germany, that will be your last chance to grab the European version I'd guess. The next game move for SA will be the new Blind Authority 7" which is due out for early March / Mongrel Fest II. They've been playing a few tracks of "No Future" on the recent tour and well... all I can say is that I'm ridiculously excited for it. Gonna be doing a live promo tape for it sometime soon, which will feature 2 of the 5 songs from it along with a new intro and a cover on there, gonna try get that up as soon as. I recently mentioned that Control is now part of the SA team. The Northern Wolfpack will be releasing 4 brand new tracks on a new tape entitled "Three Years On" through SA come late 2013. This will be the third release from Control, which will follow up from that class 2012 demo that came out on Hemlock 13 (rip) last year.

These new tracks are without a doubt their most praisable to date (I've heard the rough mixes, hence the ignorant statement.) As soon as the mastered versions are done & artworks ready the tapes will be available in the store (gimme a few weeks or so). Along with the release of the Control cs, our other new recruits Dread will be releasing a 2nd demo tape "Brain Rot" simultaneously with those of the Control ones, which will (as mentioned above) be available in December. Brain Rot will feature two new tracks on the first side and then the previous three tracks from their self released demo on the flip-side. You can listen to those older tracks from their 1st demo here. Hard to correlate these, all I know is they do what they do, and they do it good. The new tracks are a massive step up!

Control - Full Set

Newly announced members in Control played a cool hometown show this past week up North. Footage from their full set is now online (above). Couple of new songs in there from the forthcoming tape along with a couple of real class covers! Really excited to get this one out there, just waiting on some art shit and should then have them ready in a few weeks... give or take.

It would seem Newcastle and it's surrounding are really building up a awesome little scene over that way! Great to see more & more places doing shows on a regular occurrence with everyone really getting into it & making contributions! Same goes for Southampton, the UYC & co doing great things down that way. Keep it up!

Blind Authority / Poder Absoluto UK Tour

The Nawty boys are going on a little 5 day run next month, with none other than Valencias finest Poder Absoluto! Both bands will be playing new songs on the forthcoming 7"s. Should be a fun few days. Up Next For SA

It's been a little while since theres been any news on what's up next for Self Acceptance.
Probably about time to drop the news on that.

Next up is going to be a four new jamz from the Northern Wolfpack lads in Control.
Since being back from their life travels / done with studies, they've regrouped back together and written four of the best slammers they've ever done before. Real excited to get this one out there.
80s west coast fans, come get wild.

After that will be a 7" with the ever promising title... "No Future" from my favorite nawty boyz in Blind Authority. The 7" will be split between Self Acceptance & again Fight Em All Records over in the USA, who also did the American release of their demo. Pressing info of the 7" is still up in the air, but will be split equally between the two labels & the band, different coloured wax for each. Siked to be doing something with them again. The rough guitar tracks are already sounding raw as hell. This is aimed to be ready sometime 2014.

Also somewhere crammed in between, SA is going to be doing a 2nd Demo for my Scottish friends in Dread, entitled "Brain Rot". Young skate rats playing ruthless jamz on a modern day Boston trip.  The tape will feature 2 new tracks on one side and then the previous 3 tracks from their first demo on the other.

As always, news on all the above releases along with other stuff will be put up on here as & when updates are present.

Distro Update pt II.

The day after I decided to put the half of the distro update i've had in for ages... the other half arrives at my door. Couldn't make this shit up! Anyways, 7"s in from Disaproval / Sick People & surprisingly The Pack (Big thanks to Rome / Juggernaut Records for that, you the man!)

Incoming Distro Items.

Okay, so the Sick People - Fakes Rule 7" is now out on Juggernaut Records over here in Europe & out on Urban Rage back in Australia. I'm going to be getting in a small amount of the Juggernaut European version for the SA distro sometime soon, which will be available online from the store for UK people to save on shipping. I will also try have them at any upcoming shows I'm at. Also gonna be getting some stuff from Disapproval, Kremlin, Protester, Pure Disgust and maybe some other shit all around the same sort of time.
